Bearded Dragons
Size: They are 16-24 inches.
Lifespan: They live for around 10-12 years
Caging: Hatchlings can live in a twenty gallon. Adults need a 40 gallon to live happily.
Lighting and Temperature: These lizards need a UVB bulb and a heat lamp. The basking area should be 100-110 degrees.
Substrate: Paper towels, newspaper, and reptile carpet should be used. For adults, sand could be used.
Food: They should be fed leafy greens( no iceberg), crickets, and mealworms. Juveniles should be fed more insects than greens but adults should be fed the other way around.
Water: For water, you should spray the greens. No bowls because they will either defecate in it or kick sand into it.
Handling: They have very good temperments and will tolerate being handled. They wil usually sit on your hand but hatchlings are skittish.
Tips: A basking rock is appreciated; no hide is required.
